Inspiration from Design*Sponge!

Our

Design*Sponge

by Grace Bonny Box #2 arrived this morning. As we opened the box, which celebrates and supports independent artists and their small-scale design items, we learned the theme of this box was COLOR – with pops of pink, orange, and yellow.

We loved the simple tag wrapped around this Karen Kimmel Furoshiki cloth. This was inspired by patterned paper and intended to be used as a reusable gift wrap.

These Llbuav Choy Duerr Colorwheel cards are so simple, yet fun! They are blank inside so they are perfect for any occasion.

We really fell in love with this Banquet Heart poster. With a thick frame around, it could be a fun addition to an accent wall.

Thanks for our color box, Design*Sponge!

The Finest Ham in the World...ON WHEELS!

A couple of weeks ago we had the honor of having a

jamón

master-carving demo at our office. Chef Teddy Rebollo personally brought his hand-crafted cart and his out-of-this-world

jamón

for an experience like no other.

Teddy contacted our team a while back and we checked out his website and instantly saw what a beautiful job he was doing – from his carving station cart to his website. We couldn't let him get away without hearing more. Sure enough, we were not only able to

hear

more about his company, but the best part was that we were able to

taste

what he had been describing.

Teddy took us on his

ibérico

experience by walking us through all of his steps. First, Teddy told us a little bit about himself and his background in Spanish

jamón

and why he chose to share his love for it. Next he showed us how he sets up his cart and how it was made.

After that, he taught us a little bit about what we were eating. "Most of the best chefs worldwide consider Jamón Ibérico de Bellota 'The Finest Ham in the World.' It is considered one of the four finest gourmet products along with caviar, truffles, and foie."

We learned how the

jamón

is raised, cured, treated, set up, carved, preserved, and most importantly – how it is eaten!

We poured a splash of white wine for each of us, toasted each other, then sampled the finest ham in the world. Everyone's jaws dropped with delicious surprise. Coming from someone whose favorite meat is prosciutto, this wasn't even in the same league! Welcome to the big leagues ladies and gentleman! Teddy also makes a fantastic, flavorful tomato spread which he put on Spanish baguettes – which are also killer with the

jamón

!

We are so excited to work with Teddy at our future events and we will be jealous of the client who we use him for!

Thank you, Teddy for the finest demo of the finest

jamón

in the world.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, and try some

jamón

if you get the opportunity!

Dogpatch WineWorks

It's always fun to have corporate events in unusual places. Dogpatch WineWorks proved to be a great venue for one of our latest offsites. It doesn't hurt that it's located in our building.

Check out their website for more information.

Mélange Market

Today, I stumbled upon happiness at Mélange Market in the Mission.

Wow! Is there such a thing as love at first sight with a café? Seriously.
I had to scrape myself up off the floor, after falling so instantly
in love.

Mélange is quietly perched on the corner of 17th and Shotwell in the ODC building in one of the hippest (and grittiest) neighborhoods in San Francisco. Talk about being smacked with unexpected and overwhelming amounts
of country, artsy, antiquey adorableness in one little creative gem of a café!

Though unassuming from the sidewalk, once inside you’ll discover a casual, colorful, inspiring, and eclectic mix of antique café and picnic seating,

imaginative string art with egg beaters,

storybook-esque chalk murals,

handwritten chalkboard and glass windowpane signs,

an impressive pastry case, De La Paz coffee,

and no shortage of country-inspired floral arrangements and
tiny, sweet details everywhere.

The staff, who raved about owners Matt Semmelhack of AQ and
former AQ pastry chef Maya Erickson, are also the artists who contribute to
adorning the space with their creativity.

Mélange Market is by far my favorite new spot to stop in for a
Parisian pastry and a little latté love.

P.S. Jessie pointed out that Mélange Market and I have the same initials, so I guess it’s Melanie and Mélange (MM + MM) 4ever. ;)

– Enjoy! Melanie
