Fun

Mission Friday

Last Friday Jessie and I had the pleasure of going out to explore our own city. It was research for
a meeting we have in September. We went on a foodie adventure with FoodieAventures.  It was a cold day, but we met a lot of warm people along the way.

I am not going to tell you too much about the tour, you should go on it yourself. I will say the best part, besides being paid to eat great food, was getting to know the city I have called home for 24 years a little bit better.

Thanks Chris for an excellent tour.

Yum

This weekend we went exploring to see what was happening in Cole Valley.

I love to see what Urban Mercantile has to offer. I ended up buying my husband’s Valentine’s Day card there. I also checked out the new cheeses at Say Cheese.

Then my boys wanted to see the new Ice Cream Bar, which opened in an old grocery store. It was beautiful and besides ice cream it has a full-fledged soda fountain where you can get an egg cream, malted drinks, and almost any other soda concoction you can dream of.

The boys liked it best because the employees are called “jerks,” as in soda jerks. Where else can a 10- and 12-year-old call someone a jerk and get away with it?!

They ended up sharing a banana split and the banana was caramelized right in front of their eyes. Wow.

May your week be sweet.

Unconventional Event Space

Tree houses, they are not just for kids!

What adult would not want to lounge in this amazing tree house?

Curl up in a cozy loft space to read a book, enjoy drinks with friends on the patio, or to have a chat while looking out into the tree tops. No matter what you do it would be wonderful.

My first thought when I saw this was how awesome it would be to have a small dinner party inside the tree house!

What is your favorite spot in the tree house?

To hear more about the story behind this tree house check out the article over at Chicago Home and Garden.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend, maybe you will build your own tree house.

Come on, lets go make the kids jealous...

Community Footprint Event

Last week we got to participate in an event that we did not plan, which is always a treat for the team at Samantha Smith Productions. The Ritz Carlton of San Francisco and some of their international properties let us join them to decorate Tom shoes that will then be donated to a local SF charity. It was a blast and we were giving back at the same time.
Take a look at what we created:
