An Evening of Recognition

Yesterday we headed to sunny Southern Cali for an awards dinner. Having grown up in Orange County, it was fun to be in my own backyard at Fashion Island’s Fig and Olive Restaurant in Newport Beach!

After a week of rain, this event marked the return of sunny days – getting me (and probably many others) excited for summer beach days. If only I had a tan . . .

Anyway, we held the event in the wine room, which was wonderful. Clean, bright, and filled floor-to-ceiling with wine – can you say heaven?

We added some elegance by pairing white with cool grey menus and floral arrangements that incorporated different textures with a pop of pastel orange. Oh, and don’t forget the clear glass box candles! We also added a sweet touch from Woodhouse Chocolates.

It was all smiles all around – literally. They had such a great team at the restaurant supporting us. From waiters Carly and Adam to Chef Mark.

Can’t wait to return!

xoxo,

Hayley

Gradient Colors

In June, Elizabeth talked about Pinterest and our love of pinning our ideas to Pinterest to create a shared vision for our events. As you can see from the pictures below, Elizabeth turned our pins into a beautiful event.

The gradient color theme was carried out through the décor and food choices. We used corn for yellow, crab cakes for pink, strawberries for red, as well as other delicious colorful choices. It was great to be part of such a lovely event, even if I was working.

Have a great week. Samantha

Event Space Vignettes

SSP is always on the lookout for the up-and-coming ideas in event space.

A new trend in the industry is to create mini-themed environments or vignettes within a larger event space, giving guests a place to kick back and relax and creating interest with nontraditional furniture and seating options.

We recently toured Blueprint Studios warehouse to check out the latest and greatest in event decor and this new themed-environment trend.

Wall panels and an oversized dining chair add an interesting appeal.
As you can see Danielle loved the chair.

We shall see what crazy and fun environments we come up with for our next events....

Santa Barbara Glamour

Merideth and I just returned from a fabulous event at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara! It was a beautiful location and the guests loved every last bit.

We did an "Old Hollywood Glamour"-themed evening - complete with black and white photos of our favorite stars as centerpieces, and cool gobo silhouettes of Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, and Humphrey Bogart.

And then there was the cruise of the Santa Barbara Harbor on the amazing Channel Cat catamaran. We saw some cute critters!

All in all, it was a fantastic event!

Keepsake Coasters

This past weekend I planned the table decor for a dinner party. My client stressed that she did not want the wet water glasses directly placed on her wood table. Her answer... coasters.

The standard coaster is typical and expected, but these homemade, personalized coasters served two purposes...coasters AND place cards!
